Dr. Stephen J. Gould is a world renowned scientist who is primarily recognized for his work in evolution. This page is going to focus on three main areas: a lttle information about theman, his work, and his theories. Dr. Gould currently teaches zoology and evolution theory at Harvard University. He has written several books. We will primarily look at "Ever Since Darwin: Reflections in Natural History" and "Full House: The Spread of Excellence From Plato to Darwin". We, Allison Hastings and Natalie S. Harris, chose these books because they are almost exactly 20 years apart in publication. We thought that it would be interesting to see how much, if any, of his thinking on evolution has changed. We will provide you with a basic understanding of his theories (and Darwin's for that matter) on natural selection.
